I wish I could see John in concert once again, but he is gone. I was
8 months pregnant when my husband surprised me with tickets to see his
concert at the Fox theater in Detroit. It made me so very happy. The
next year his plane crashed. Although I miss his new music I am glad
to have almost all his music with me still to enjoy and enrich my life,
by making me think about these places and people he sang about. A true
inspiration. Joan

John -
I remember you singing, "I'll be with you in singing skies
and dancing waters, laughing children, growing old ..." and you are there
- always. Skiing with us in Colorado last week, whitewater rafting and
camping out on the banks of a river each night this past summer. I can't
imagine how different my life would have been without your influence.
Happy Birthday, my friend.

John
is the most significant influence in my songwriting, and he has had a
profound influence on my global philosophy. It's a honor to light this
candle in his memory. I sing at least one JD song each week at a special
place in the Pittsburgh area, and will do so everytime I perform, whereever
I am.
Happy Birthday, my friend

To
my mentor: I learned to write songs with the feel you gave your songs.
You influenced me to play the same model Guild guitars you started with.
And I took pleasure at having met you with some friends of mine in May
of 1997.. Your friendliness was genuine, and that was the opportunity of
a lifetime, one I will cherish for the rest of my life.
