I grew up as a young lad always listening to Johns songs and found them a great source of comfort in some very troubled family times.
Now here I am a grown man and a family of my own and even now when I hear a certain song it will take me right back to my youth and the memories there,
John umknowingly helped me and Im sure many others with his beautiful songs, I have kept many albums THE WINDSONG being my favourite of all!! In this world full of madness Johns songs brought us some truth and stability god bless you John!! from a friend you never knew.

Dear John,
The first day of a New Year.Brand new white pages are on our hands. Hopefully we are able to fill the pages up with good things.
On the first page of my calendar are printed the words "One Kind Word Can Warm Three Wintermonths".
John, the words to your songs were always so warm and full of love and comfort. They still are warming me during the "cold" days.
Thank you John for that lovely gift you gave us.

John's drifting tunes have traveled with me
Easing the pains of scars suffered in silence
My loving guides shared your lyrical gifts
Adding to my healing quest I'm hiking for years
Feeling within your amazing & caring spirit
Shocked when your physical life was ripped away
Knowing though, that your soul was set free
I am joyful that you guide my way always
Giving me endless inspiration in my quest
I thank you for helping me DREAM~~~DARE~~~DIVE
I light my nightly candle for you, John
One day we'll meet again in the Otherworld...

Dear John,
Happy Birthday.
Here's my greeting for you,today:-

Birthday Bouquet

I see you through a Spring-time mist,
As morning streaks the sky.
You sit beside a tumbling waterfall.
I give you yellow roses,
Fragrant blooms that you adore.
They symbolize you are a friend to all.

It's Summer,and you walk again
Down your own country road.
Your Spirit swells as does the ocean's tide.
Red roses mean remembrances.
So,here's a whole bouquet.
The singer's silent, yet his words abide.

As Autumn glory garbs the land,
I turn my thoughts within,
To that one moment when you went away.
Please,take this blue forget-me-not.
You're ever in our hearts,
As constant as the darling buds of May.

Now,Winter paints this land pure white.
The PEACE of Christmas comes.
In colder climes the flowers all are gone.
But,in a warm and distant land,
Their scents ride on the wind,
To wish you,"Happy Birthday",dearest John".

Love,and PEACE to you,My Friend.
You are forever in my heart.
Cynthia.

Merry Christmas, John. Your Warmth Still Glows For Me During The Holidays And Each And Every Day Of The Year.

See The Sunlight Through The Pine
Taste The Warm Of Winter Wine
Dream Of Softly Falling Snow
Winter Snow Aspenglow

As The Winter Days Unfold
Hearts Grow Warmer With The Cold
Peace Of Mind Is All You Know
Winter Snow Aspenglow

Peace And Love My Friend.....

Dear John,
Christmas Greetings from Toronto,Ontario. We've got the"Cold Nights in Canada"now,John. So if you're soaring above us,stay warm. From "my heart to yours"comes the following poem:-

Song For John

Christmas is coming.
There's love in the air.
I miss you so much,
And I wish you were here

Sitting snug by the fire,
As the winds howl outside,
While snow garbs the pine boughs,
Like lace on a bride.

I see you so clearly,
Your old guitar in hand,
As the still silent night
Cloaks a magical land.

Happy Christmas,John Denver!
You are so in our hearts.
There is never a Christmas,
Of which you're not a part.

Have a FAR OUT Christmas,John.
Peace and Love,My Friend.
Cynthia

John:

Today was the last day of teaching for the fall semester. I think you would be proud of my students. Their final group projects were diversified and relevant to our beautiful environment. They were graded on creativity and originality besides the normal constraints.

One group found a new fuel cell car that will join the hybrids to help global warming. The second group talked of the dangers of oil spills and what happens many years later. The third group did their presentation on drilling in ANWR (Alaska National Wildlife refuge). They privileged economics over the wildlife, but then they found a way that both could live in peace and harmony. The other two groups did as well if not better!

This is only my third semester teaching college, and I am SO proud of bringing environmental ethics into my Business Communications class and having that aspect count as 35% of their grade.

I listen to your music almost daily. There are many days when I can't, as I still am afraid of going to a very dark, gloomy place again. I'm being very careful what I listen to this time. OH oh oh...I bought your nature tape called "Let This Be a Voice." It was the most inspiring tape I have ever seen. John, I sent my boyfriend in Colorado a tape like it for Christmas, and he hasn't seen it yet, but I know he will go crazy for it.

Please forgive me for not lighting more candles and writing you more often, but I have a lot of work to do, and I do think you would want that to come first!

I love you, your music, and your dreams. Somewhere along the line, your dreams became mine before I even knew you. Oh, I know that you were far from the only person that ever cared about the environment, but you were and ARE the person that touches our hearts enough for us to DO something about it and teach others.

I may not write you again before summer, but if I don't, you'll know I am carrying on your work and mine.

Yes, you still see tears that fall when I think of you; you still see sadness blanket my face when I hear some of your songs, and you still see happiness when sunshine warms my shoulders. I miss you so much that the only thing I can say is, I'll be with you someday along with my other love.

Please fly for all of us, John.

Love, light and peace.
