9-11-01 ... Let Us Never Forget.
AFTERMATH
September
eleventh,two thousand and one,
That infamous day when the world came
undone,
What were you doing? What did you see,
As the lurid events
swept across your T.V.?
Did you even imagine how it feels to
die,
With no gentle touches or whispered "Goodbye"?
Did you hear
sirens screaming,the weeping and wailing?
Did you think that,just
maybe,the whole world was failing?
Did you feel that,somehow,out
there at Ground Zero,
Most men did not relish the title of "Hero"?
Do
you still see the planes and the smoke in the sky?
Does the song,"Where
were you......?
Bring the tears to your eyes?
Do you think
Innocence died that same day,
When the Towers imploded, and ashes rained
gray?
Do you ache for the children,so lost and alone,
Who waited
for parents that did not come home?
Do you think there is hope
for this beleagured world?
Will the guns all be silenced, the peace
flag unfurled?
Do you see,in the future, some kind of assurance,
Far
removed from the past of a fragile endurance?
September eleventh,two
thousand and one,
That infamous day, when the world came undone,
My
eyes were all-seeing.I wish they'd been blind
To the death and destruction,hurled
down on mankind.

There are not enough candles to light for the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina.
I pray for all those people. But mostly I pray for the animals, who
have no idea what has happened. Only that they are now alone. I know
how much all the animals meant to John and how much they mean to me.
I pray that the good Lord takes care of them.

Dear John,
We can't begin to tell you how much you mean to us. We
have traveled to Windstar to see your statue. We were totally alone there,
and we felt your spirit with us. It started to rain and we sat in the
car and sang along with your music until dark. It was so beautiful and
peaceful. It was wonderful to see my grandaughter amazed by this place
and you. She sang along as the tears rolled down her little cheeks. Even
though she was born after your passing, she said it best when she said
" Oh John we miss you so much" Thank you for all you have done and continue
to do through your wonderful music. We love you.
