Dear John,
I want to thank you,yes again, for the friends you have
given me.You and I know who they are,and they know who they are.And I
wouldn't want to be writing all of their names down, and, inadvertantly, leave
someone out.
Man,I'm going through a rough time,right now,and without
their prayers, love, and support, and the things they do to show that they
care,I would be a lost soul. The blessings of their friendship are very
precious to me.And,were it not for,and through you,I wouldn't have them.
And,John,your music...well that's helping a lot,too.But you know that.For
sure,eh?
So,thanks John.I'm lighting all the candles for you and
for my "Denver Friends".God bless them all,for the gifts they are.

heart to yours"

Dearest John,
I think we're doing it!! I am just finishing up
my thesis proposal for my last year in gradute school, and I've spoken
with Colorado State University about a position next fall--a professor
no less!! :)
It is difficult to think that I am actually moving
to the beautiful area in which you lived. I'm going to teach writing and
write in national publications about "our" environment. I know if it
had not been for your music, which I've come to know way too late in life,I
would not have had the reslove to push myself to this point.
I know
you are with me, as I feel you in every breathe that I take while walking
in the wilderness and hearing the cry of a newborn non-human animal, while
you shed tears with me. I just don't understand these people John; why
do they want to hurt "babies" that are so much weaker than themselves?
Oh God, please help them.
I only know that I AM doing what I've
begun, and I plan on making a difference in this world, as you HAVE done--no
matter my age.
John, I don't believe age has anything to do
with helping our environment or the people that comprise it.
Oh,
I wanted you to know that I am looking to build a log home, but much smaller
than what you and Annie had. I love them for their warmth and comfort
they can give us all. I'm very lucky to have a future in your world when
you were in this realm.
I'm crying now, for I would love to
turn on the radio and hear "Yellowstone" or whatever your newest song
would be. I wish you nothing but love and laughter in the other realm--but
I bet you are here with all of us flying with the eagles and just smiling
as we carry on the work you and so many others have begun.
I'm
contacting Windstar and other organizations in case they need help in
writing persuasively. :)
Dearest John, what can I say except
that I love you very much, and the man I will marry, in about 3 years,
is already in Colorado and will be waiting for me. He introduced me to
your music and his old guitar. Thank God that he did, for it DID give
him "his woman."
Fly high, my other love. I'll see you on the
other side. But here and now, I WILL make a difference. :)
It is very
difficult to write to you, but I feel the need to when I have to talk
to someone who understands me.
Love,
Debbie
PS
The green candle is for when I walk in the forest and hear you speak;
the blue candle is for the skies as I see you fly overhead, the red is
for the anger I feel when "our" mountains are being desecrated, and the
pink is for the beautiful sunsets when I think of the Calypso..aye!!

Sweet John...You were a visionary, an advocate of world peace and harmony,
a preserver of nature and its
beauty, your wonderful songs that even
to this day inspire so many people, the words, the melodies, the truth
in your lyrics. As we look to the future we see the world losing the respect
that you had worked so hard
to preserve......You are so missed, John..Love...Brenda

Wednesday, Oct. 12th as I walked along the beach, John, you were there
.. yellow butterflies everywhere!! So many places for you to be on that
day, but you sent a small part of you to be with me. And then, what should
I find but a perfect single yellow flower laying on the beach ... your
presence again, John?! I tossed it into the waves to join the single
yellow rose I sent to you not moments ago! I couldn't be in Aspen, nor
Pacific Grove, but you found me thinking of you and singing your songs
on my favorite beach in S.C. ... Thank You, John, for those special moments.
I will carry your memory in my heart forever ... Peace, my friend ..
I miss you so.

Vrede
voor éénieder vanuit het kleine België , Luc

Eight years away...
Your vision
ever rides
upon the wind.

to make of our diversity
ONE WORLD,with all
therein.
