I WAS THINKING ABOUT JOHN AS I WAS LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC
March 22, 2008
Maree Munro
<leothelioncub@hotmail.com>
To John, when I was 17 I was so madly in love with you, I'd cry all the
way through your concerts. In my 20's you were my idol no boyfriend could
match. In my 30's I softly sang your songs to my newborn babies. Now,
in my 40's you're the one great love of my life and a beautiful memory....

G'day
John,
Because you love the sea...
Lullaby
Cascading
waves on shore
my lullaby once more,
Echoes of the deep
lull
me into sleep.
Cadence fast,
rhythmic,slow.
Hold the note.
Then
let it go
to places visualized,
but yet unseen,
landscape
of a dream.
Ebb and flow,
aura and afterglow,
glimmers of
peace,
Surcease.
Fly high,John.
Love you forever,
Cynthia

only what he felt, he causes us all to feel,
Bringing us through difficulties,
to a joy of life that is real.

Dear John, Echoes
Somewhere in time,I think I may have
found you,
Beside a sparkling mountain meadow stream.
But,I awake
to find it was illusion,
The very stuff that makes a lovely dream.
Somewhere
in time,I hear your guitar playing.
Your song floats on the gentle
evening breeze,
Becomes one with the brilliant stars of Heaven,
Drifts
down to Earth,to tread its endless seas.
Somewhere in time,you've
found
The peace you longed for.
So now,in higher spheres,you freely
roam.
And yes,one day,we all will be united,
Uplifted by the wings
that fly us home.
I never got the chance to say,"I love you!".
I
never got the chance to say "Goodbye".
Could I but enter Time,and
rewrite history,
My Friend, you would have never had to die.

Dear John,
I met your Mom,very briefly,in Aspen,in 2002.I'm very
shy.I didn't know what to say to her.She asked me where I was from and
I said "Canada".She took my hand in hers, and said,"You have a nice trip
back to Canada, now".I would have liked to thank her for giving you to
the whole wide world, for "the gift you are"
Happy Mother's Day,Erma,and
all moms,wherever you may be.

Dear John,
I'm back again. If it weren't for the support of my Denver
friends,I might be worse off,than I am,right now,with all my problems.Thanks
to all of you,who may be reading this, for your emails, cards, letters, calls, love, support
and prayers.
I've found a lot of J.D.folks in the caring,healing,teaching
professions.Today is International Nurses Day,and so I leave this poem, for
all my nursing mates, wherever they may be:-
Healing Hands
Nurses
are the angels
That God has placed on Earth,
To help ease pain
and suffering,
To witness joy and birth.
A gentle touch by
helping hands,
A soft voice in the night,
A listening ear,a smile
that shines,
They work to make things right.
So,on this very
special day,
For nurses everywhere,
God grant you strength to
carry on,
And keep you in His care
Peace
and Love.

My family and I first saw John as we waited outside the guard gate in
Starwood in Aspen in 1977. He came driving by in his yellow CJ and waived
and said hiya to us.10 years later I was blessed in life to have a soulmate
that shares the love of nature, the mountains and John Denver with me.
Although we miss him dearly, we see him in the flight of an eagle, the
feeling of a cool summer breeze, and the spirit that he lit in those of
us who call him friend.
